What We Are Investigating?
Our firm is launching a comprehensive investigation into Microgaming over allegations that it has been suppressing critical reviews and unfavorable Google search results by fraudulently misusing DMCA takedown notices. These actions, if proven, could constitute serious legal violations—including impersonation, fraud, and perjury.
We conducted comprehensive analyses of fraudulent copyright takedown requests, meritless legal complaints, and other unlawful efforts to suppress public access to critical information. Our reporting sheds light on the prevalence and modus operandi of a structured censorship network, often funded and used by criminal enterprises, oligarchs and criminal entities seeking to manipulate public perception and bypass AML checks conducted by financial organisations.
The fake DMCA notices in this investigation appears to have been strategically deployed to remove negative content from Google search results illegally. Based on this pattern, we have reasonable grounds to infer that Microgaming - or an entity acting at its behest - is directly or indirectly complicit in this cyber crime.
In most such cases, such ops are executed by rogue, fly-by-night 'Online Reputation Management' agencies acting on behalf of their clients. If evidence establishes that the subject knowingly benefited from or facilitated this scam, it may be deemed an 'accomplice' or an 'accessory' to the crime.
What are they trying to censor
Microgaming, a name synonymous with online casino software, has long enjoyed a reputation as an industry pioneer. But behind the polished PR and self-congratulatory marketing lies a darker narrative—one riddled with controversies, questionable ethics, and a disturbing tendency to suppress unfavorable information. From financial scandals to game downgrades and the whitewashing of negative press, the company’s track record raises serious concerns for investors, regulators, and players alike. Let’s take a deep dive into the tangled web of Microgaming’s operations and expose the red flags they’d rather keep hidden.
A Legacy Tarnished by Controversy
Microgaming proudly touts its pioneering role in the online gaming industry since 1994. However, beneath this glossy exterior lies a history peppered with incidents that raise serious ethical and operational concerns.
Take, for instance, the 2008 debacle involving Tusk Investment Corporation Limited, a licensee of Microgaming. When Tusk went belly-up, it left poker players high and dry, collectively owed a staggering $5.3 million. Microgaming’s response? A deafening silence. The oldest software provider in the business turned a blind eye, offering no restitution to the affected players. This incident not only underscores a lack of accountability but also highlights a disturbing disregard for the very patrons that fuel the industry.
The Art of Censorship and Information Control
In the grand tradition of corporate opacity, Microgaming appears to have mastered the subtle art of information control. Discussions and reports highlighting the company’s shortcomings often vanish into the digital ether, suggesting a concerted effort to sanitize its public image.
Consider the case of the “nerfed” games. Players have voiced concerns over the downgrading of popular titles like “Thunderstruck II” and “Immortal Romance” following their transfer to Games Global Ltd. These grievances, however, struggle to gain traction in mainstream discourse, hinting at an underlying suppression of negative feedback.
A Commitment to Responsible Gambling?
Microgaming’s director of compliance, Sarah Campbell, has publicly declared the company’s dedication to safer gaming and responsible gambling, claiming it’s part of Microgaming’s DNA. Yet, this professed commitment seems to be more about optics than tangible action. True responsible gaming practices demand more than just financial contributions to charities; they require systemic changes and genuine transparency—qualities that Microgaming appears to lack.
The Investor’s Conundrum
For potential investors, Microgaming presents a paradox. On one hand, it boasts a vast portfolio and a longstanding presence in the online gaming industry. On the other, its history is marred by controversies, a lack of transparency, and an apparent eagerness to suppress dissenting voices. Investing in a company that prioritizes image over integrity is a gamble where the odds are decidedly unfavorable.
A Call to Regulatory Authorities
Regulatory bodies must cast a discerning eye on Microgaming’s operations. The company’s pattern of evading accountability, coupled with its attempts to control the narrative, poses significant risks to consumers and the integrity of the online gaming industry. It’s imperative that authorities investigate these practices and enforce measures that ensure transparency and fairness.
Conclusion
Microgaming’s journey from a pioneering software provider to a controversial figure in the online gaming world serves as a cautionary tale. Its history of controversies, coupled with efforts to censor unfavorable information, paints a picture of a company more concerned with its image than ethical operations. Potential investors and regulatory authorities must remain vigilant, ensuring that the allure of profit does not overshadow the imperative for integrity and accountability in the gaming industry.

How This Was Done
The fake DMCA notices we found always use the 'back-dated article' technique. With this technique, the wrongful notice sender (or copier) creates a copy of a 'true original' article and back-dates it, creating a 'fake original' article (a copy of the true original) that, at first glance, appears to have been published before the true original
What Happens Next?
Based on the feedback, information, and requests received from all relevant parties, our team will formally notify the affected party of the alleged infringement. Following a thorough review, we will submit a counter-notice to reinstate any link that has been removed by Google, in accordance with applicable legal provisions. Additionally, we will communicate with Google’s Legal Team to ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
