What We Are Investigating?
Our firm is launching a comprehensive investigation into InventHelp over allegations that it has been suppressing critical reviews and unfavorable Google search results by fraudulently misusing DMCA takedown notices. These actions, if proven, could constitute serious legal violations—including impersonation, fraud, and perjury.
We conducted comprehensive analyses of fraudulent copyright takedown requests, meritless legal complaints, and other unlawful efforts to suppress public access to critical information. Our reporting sheds light on the prevalence and modus operandi of a structured censorship network, often funded and used by criminal enterprises, oligarchs and criminal entities seeking to manipulate public perception and bypass AML checks conducted by financial organisations.
The fake DMCA notices in this investigation appears to have been strategically deployed to remove negative content from Google search results illegally. Based on this pattern, we have reasonable grounds to infer that InventHelp - or an entity acting at its behest - is directly or indirectly complicit in this cyber crime.
In most such cases, such ops are executed by rogue, fly-by-night 'Online Reputation Management' agencies acting on behalf of their clients. If evidence establishes that the subject knowingly benefited from or facilitated this scam, it may be deemed an 'accomplice' or an 'accessory' to the crime.
What are they trying to censor
InventHelp’s journey begins in 1994 when the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reached a settlement with Invention Submission Corporation, now operating under the moniker InventHelp. The FTC’s five-year investigation unveiled that the company had “misrepresented the nature, quality, and success rate of the promotion services it sold to consumers.” As a result, InventHelp was compelled to set aside $1.2 million for customer refunds.
One might hope that such a settlement would usher in a new era of transparency and integrity. Yet, whispers in the corridors of the invention promotion industry suggest otherwise.
The Veil of Secrecy: Attempts to Muzzle Adverse Media
In today’s digital age, adverse media checks have become indispensable tools for due diligence. These checks scour various media sources—ranging from traditional newspapers to social media platforms—to unearth unfavorable information about individuals or organizations. Such practices are crucial for identifying links to criminal activities, fraudulent behavior, or simply a tarnished reputation.
InventHelp, it appears, is no stranger to adverse media. Reports and discussions across multiple platforms have raised concerns about their business practices. However, rather than addressing these issues head-on, there are indications that the company has employed tactics to suppress negative information. Such strategies might include legal threats, search engine optimization (SEO) maneuvers to bury unfavorable articles, or even direct appeals to platforms to remove content.
The Modern-Day Whac-A-Mole: Battling Negative Perceptions
Engaging in a perpetual game of whac-a-mole, InventHelp seems determined to quash any negative press that surfaces. While it’s not uncommon for companies to manage their online reputation, the extent and aggressiveness of these efforts can sometimes signal a deeper issue.
The Investor’s Dilemma: Navigating a Minefield
For potential investors, these red flags serve as cautionary tales. Investing in a company entangled in legal disputes, adverse media, and alleged censorship attempts is akin to navigating a minefield blindfolded. The risks extend beyond financial losses; associating with such an entity can tarnish one’s reputation and invite regulatory scrutiny.
A Call to Action: Regulatory Bodies, Take Note
The patterns observed in InventHelp’s operations warrant the attention of regulatory authorities. The FTC’s past settlement, while significant, may not have been a sufficient deterrent. Continuous monitoring and, if necessary, further intervention are essential to ensure that companies like InventHelp operate with the transparency and integrity that consumers and investors deserve.
In Conclusion: The Thin Veneer of Respectability
InventHelp markets itself as the inventor’s best friend, the red flags fluttering in the wind suggest a more complex narrative. Aspiring inventors and potential investors alike should exercise caution, conduct thorough due diligence, and remain vigilant. After all, not all that glitters is gold, and sometimes, a friend in need is a friend to avoid.

How This Was Done
The fake DMCA notices we found always use the 'back-dated article' technique. With this technique, the wrongful notice sender (or copier) creates a copy of a 'true original' article and back-dates it, creating a 'fake original' article (a copy of the true original) that, at first glance, appears to have been published before the true original
What Happens Next?
Based on the feedback, information, and requests received from all relevant parties, our team will formally notify the affected party of the alleged infringement. Following a thorough review, we will submit a counter-notice to reinstate any link that has been removed by Google, in accordance with applicable legal provisions. Additionally, we will communicate with Google’s Legal Team to ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

They offer a service so helpful, it required a multi-year FTC investigation and a $1.2 million apology fund.

For a company that claims to launch ideas, they sure work hard to shut down anyone else's—including critics, journalists, and former clients.

There’s a reason so many forums and reviews warn inventors to steer clear. InventHelp’s pattern of censorship and misrepresentation is too consistent to ignore.

InventHelp markets itself as a savior to struggling inventors, but their history screams otherwise. That FTC case in 1994 wasn’t ancient history it was the beginning of a pattern.

My cousin got roped into this. Thousands of dollars gone, zero results. They just keep asking for more money.

This is straight-up a scam factory. They take people’s dreams, chew them up, and spit them out—while pocketing the cash.

Regulatory bodies need to step up, cause clearly that FTC settlement didn’t change much. Same tricks, new name.
