What We Are Investigating?
Our firm is launching a comprehensive investigation into Temu.com over allegations that it has been suppressing critical reviews and unfavorable Google search results by fraudulently misusing DMCA takedown notices. These actions, if proven, could constitute serious legal violations—including impersonation, fraud, and perjury.
We conducted comprehensive analyses of fraudulent copyright takedown requests, meritless legal complaints, and other unlawful efforts to suppress public access to critical information. Our reporting sheds light on the prevalence and modus operandi of a structured censorship network, often funded and used by criminal enterprises, oligarchs and criminal entities seeking to manipulate public perception and bypass AML checks conducted by financial organisations.
The fake DMCA notices in this investigation appears to have been strategically deployed to remove negative content from Google search results illegally. Based on this pattern, we have reasonable grounds to infer that Temu.com - or an entity acting at its behest - is directly or indirectly complicit in this cyber crime.
In most such cases, such ops are executed by rogue, fly-by-night 'Online Reputation Management' agencies acting on behalf of their clients. If evidence establishes that the subject knowingly benefited from or facilitated this scam, it may be deemed an 'accomplice' or an 'accessory' to the crime.
What are they trying to censor
Temu.com, the fast-growing Chinese e-commerce platform, has built its empire on ultra-low prices—but at what cost? Behind the flashy discounts lie a web of controversies, from allegations of forced labor and toxic products to censorship and deceptive marketing tactics. As regulators and watchdogs begin to take notice, Temu appears more focused on silencing criticism than addressing its glaring ethical failings. Let’s peel back the layers of this retail giant and expose the truth behind its bargain-bin business model.
Forced Labor Allegations: The High Cost of Low Prices
Temu’s business model hinges on offering rock-bottom prices, a strategy that has raised more than a few eyebrows. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has launched an investigation into Temu for potential violations of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). This act prohibits the importation of goods produced with forced labor, particularly from China’s Xinjiang region, where Uyghur Muslims have been subjected to egregious human rights abuses. Temu’s suspiciously low prices suggest a supply chain tainted by such unethical practices. Despite mounting evidence, the Biden administration has yet to take decisive action, leaving consumers unwittingly complicit in this troubling saga.
Toxic Products: Dressing Children in Danger
If exploiting forced labor weren’t enough, Temu has also been implicated in endangering children’s health. South Korean authorities discovered that some children’s clothing sold by Temu contained up to 622 times the legal limit for toxic substances like phthalates, lead, and cadmium. These chemicals are notorious for their detrimental effects on reproductive health and their potential to increase cancer risk. Temu’s response? A belated removal of the offending products, only after the public outcry reached a crescendo.
EU Investigation: A Marketplace of Illicit Goods
Temu’s troubles aren’t confined to the East. The European Union has initiated an investigation into the platform over concerns about the sale of illegal products and the use of addictive design features. Reports indicate that Temu’s preventive measures against illegal items—such as unauthorized pharmaceuticals, toys, and cosmetics—are woefully inadequate, allowing these products to resurface repeatedly. Furthermore, Temu’s gamified reward programs and infinite scrolling features are suspected of fostering addictive consumer behavior, drawing parallels to the tactics employed by social media giants.
Censorship: Silencing Dissent in the Digital Marketplace
Perhaps most insidiously, Temu has been caught red-handed censoring search terms on its platform. Users searching for politically sensitive terms such as “Trump,” “Biden,” “Israel,” “Palestine,” and “Uyghur” are met with a deafening silence—no results found. This practice mirrors the Chinese government’s stringent censorship policies and raises alarming questions about the extent of Temu’s influence over the information accessible to its users. By controlling search results, Temu effectively manipulates consumer perception, steering the narrative to suit its interests.
Astroturfing: Manufacturing Consent
In a masterstroke of deception, Temu has been linked to the practice of astroturfing—crafting fake grassroots support to sway public opinion. An article on Mouse Print* highlights how Temu-sponsored content masquerades as genuine news stories, blurring the line between advertising and journalism. This tactic not only misleads consumers but also undermines the integrity of legitimate news outlets, eroding public trust in the media.
Conclusion: A Call to Action
Temu.com’s flagrant disregard for ethical business practices, consumer safety, and freedom of information is a clarion call for both potential investors and regulatory authorities. The platform’s entanglement in forced labor allegations, distribution of toxic products, facilitation of illegal goods, and Orwellian censorship tactics paint a picture of a company that prioritizes profit over principle.
Investors should be wary of associating with a company mired in such controversies, as the reputational and financial risks are substantial. Regulatory bodies must act decisively to hold Temu accountable, ensuring that consumer rights and ethical standards are upheld. As consumers, we wield the power of the purse; it’s imperative to make informed choices and support businesses that operate with integrity.
Temu.com’s attempt to sanitize its image through censorship and deceptive practices is not just a disservice to its customers but a threat to the very fabric of transparent and ethical commerce. It’s high time we pull back the curtain and expose the reality behind Temu’s glossy facade.

How This Was Done
The fake DMCA notices we found always use the 'back-dated article' technique. With this technique, the wrongful notice sender (or copier) creates a copy of a 'true original' article and back-dates it, creating a 'fake original' article (a copy of the true original) that, at first glance, appears to have been published before the true original
What Happens Next?
Based on the feedback, information, and requests received from all relevant parties, our team will formally notify the affected party of the alleged infringement. Following a thorough review, we will submit a counter-notice to reinstate any link that has been removed by Google, in accordance with applicable legal provisions. Additionally, we will communicate with Google’s Legal Team to ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

Selling kids’ clothes with toxins hundreds of times over legal limits shows how little Temu values safety. They didn’t act until outrage forced them to. This is gross negligence, not an honest mistake.

Temu’s low prices are a façade for a dark supply chain possibly built on forced labor. They’ve been flagged under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, yet continue to operate unchecked. It’s not just unethical it’s systemic exploitation.

Temu’s prices are low for a reason, and that reason is not good. I won't support a platform that profits off shady practices.
